What is a Cell?

In your body there are literally trillions of cells. Each one of them is a vibrant, living entity in and of itself, yet outside your body it is unable to survive. Within each cell there are parts that enable the cell to function and maintain life. All of the cells work together for the productivity of the tissue to which it belongs, and the tissues work together for the function of the organs, and the organs work together for the body's systems, and the systems make up the body. Therefore the basic unit of life is the cell.

This analogy is biological, but we as members of the body of Christ need to be involved in the basic unit of life, the cell. A cell is a small group of people that are seeking the Lord and His will, so they can be productive in this world for His kingdom. It functions through developing Christ-centered relationships that are loving, accountable, and confidential. It also exists so that each individual member can find a place of expression with those things that God has gifted them with.

A cell meeting is comprised of Fellowship, Edification, and Ministry.

bullet

Fellowship with the Lord Jesus and each other.

bullet

Edification through the Word of God and testimonies of the saints.

bullet

Ministry through prayer and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The meetings range from 1.5 to 2 hours, and provide the kind of nurturing we all need as members of the Body of Christ. They also provide for an avenue to express the Life of Christ to our friends and neighbors.
